From Patient to Founder: How Jing Castro is Redefining Aesthetic Medicine in Arlington, VA

When Jing Castro, NP, entered aesthetic medicine, she brought more than just clinical experience. She brought the perspective of a patient who had personally searched for better, more connected care. “Before I became an aesthetic provider, I was a consumer myself,” Jing shared. “I found that many practices focused on only one part of the journey. Some offered injectables, while others focused on facials. Very few combined medical expertise, skin health, advanced technology, and long term treatment planning.”

That experience inspired Jing to create Blue Sky Laser & Tox, a boutique aesthetic medical practice in Arlington, Virginia, serving patients from Arlington, Alexandria, McLean, Great Falls, and communities throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Jing serves as the founder, Medical Director, and lead injector.

Jing is a board certified nurse practitioner with nine years of experience spanning acute care medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine and transplant surgery at Kaiser Permanente. She credits that background with shaping the clinical judgment, procedural precision, and commitment to safety that guide her work today. “Aesthetic medicine is still medicine,” Jing explained. “Every treatment requires a strong understanding of anatomy, appropriate patient selection, and careful planning. Beautiful results should always begin with safety.”

Since 2019, Jing has devoted her clinical career exclusively to aesthetics. She was recognized by America’s Top 100 Injectors as a Recommended Provider from 2023 to 2026, while Blue Sky Laser & Tox has received local Best of BusinessRate recognition for three consecutive years.

When asked what makes her approach different, Jing emphasized that aging does not occur in just one area or one anatomical layer. “I look at the face as a complete, interconnected structure,” she said. “Sometimes a patient thinks they need filler, but the better solution may involve improving skin quality, tightening deeper tissue, restoring subtle volume, or combining treatments over time. My goal is not to sell one procedure. It is to create the right plan for that individual.” To support this integrated philosophy, Jing has invested in technologies including Sciton BBL HEROic, MOXI, Picosure Pro, Ultherapy PRIME, XERF, Candela Matrix RF microneedling, HydraFacial, and ONDA Pro. The practice also offers advanced skin quality treatments, including REJURAN and Juvelook.

In 2025 and 2026, Blue Sky Laser & Tox ranked first in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region for the number of Sciton BBL HEROic and MOXI treatments performed. The practice has also achieved Gold Tier status with Merz Aesthetics and the highest provider tier recognition from HydraFacial.

Jing continues to advance her expertise through cadaver dissection laboratories, specialized anatomical instruction with Dr. Sebastian Cotofana, and training with leading aesthetic clinics in South Korea, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Her global education allows her to blend Eastern and Western beauty philosophies while respecting each patient’s anatomy, background, and personal definition of beauty. “I never want patients to look like someone else,” Jing explained. “The best result is when they still look completely like themselves, only more refreshed, balanced, and confident.”

Through Blue Sky Laser & Tox, Jing has created the practice she once searched for herself, bringing medicine, technology, artistry, and individualized care together under one vision.
